This is not really a blog post – more a postscript. I was astonished by the amount of women who have had trouble breastfeeding and alarmed at the number who have encountered prejudice when transferring to bottle-feeding. I had no idea that these matters were so common.
Thank you so much for taking the time to show your support and share your stories. It has not only proved to be great comfort and support for me, but hopefully for those dear women out there who feel like they are facing these problems alone.
Yours,
Lisa
I also didn't realise it was so common either. I breast fed my first son for 6 months and had no real problems, other than later finding out he was Lactose intolerant.
ReplyDeleteBut when my daughter was born, I assumed that it would all come naturally the second time around. I was wrong, it was traumatic.. She cried everytime after every feed, I was bleeding and cringed everytime feedtime was due. I finally made the decision to bottle feed, and she was so much happier and sleeping through, but I still felt like I was a bad mother. There needs to be more support for the mums out there that cant breast feed.
